Powerlifting Changed My Life: From Overwhelmed to Overcoming

Eighteen years ago, I was in a place many of us find ourselves at least once in our lives—feeling completely overwhelmed by the challenges that life throws our way. I was underweight at just 128 lbs, living in a haze of unhealthy habits that I couldn’t seem to shake off. It was a daily struggle, both mentally and physically. But my life took a dramatic turn the day I realized I couldn’t carry a 50 lb. bag of potatoes from the store to my car without pausing to catch my breath. This was the moment I knew something had to change.

That low point became my wake-up call. Luckily, I had the support of a close friend who was also a coach. He introduced me to the world of strength training—a decision that would change the course of my life forever.
